This can't be right. The Ministry is cracked, this I knew, but to let those individuals off would be like...letting chimeras run around London. An intriguing idea but incredibly stupid and dangerous. Honestly, what could possibly be going through Fudge's head when he thought this up? Clearly Crouch got to his pockets to get Barty off but I don't see how any of the others were pardoned. Lestrange, he's not married to Bellatrix but the whole lot of them are off their nuts. They were Voldemort his lapdogs for Salazar's sake! Rabastan's as likely to be reformed as Voldemort he is himself. Then there's Crouch, he's as batty as the Lestranges. He certainly spends enough time with them at the very least. I can't say his being on the list was terribly surprising. I mean, he's probably the same as me in that respect, the difference being I actually didn't kill anyone.

Amycus coming back terrifies me. I'm worried he'll know. He'll figure out that I'm not really with them anymore. I don't know if I'm more afraid of Amycus finding out or Voldemort him finding out. It seems rather absurd that Amycus got pardoned as well, though. He trained me for Salazar's sake. Or tried to at least. I'm going to put up a few more wards on the house. I'm sure father's are still more than adequate, I'd just feel better about it. I'll also let Kreacher know that he's not to let anyone into the house unless I am home and tell him I am expecting someone.

I can't have unexpected visitors. I only wish there was something else I could do to protect the house. I'm going to have to go back if he calls. I can't get killed. I need to know what was so important about that mission he had Kreacher go on that nearly killed him. He needs to be punished for doing that to my house elf. It is entirely unacceptable. I could only imagine what mother and father would say if they knew about it all. If they knew what my cousin was doing, what Narcissa's husband was doing? I'm sure if they knew about the brashness of it all they would be furious. They sullied the name of Black and now we're left here to clean up the mess. It is entirely irresponsible.

It is one thing to exclude mudbloods, it is an entirely different one to kill them. Salazar, I need a drink.
